Mission Vision. We are hacking towards innovation. Our main goal is to address the challenges tied to vision health: from prevention to effective management when vision was demaged.
The event will take place in Kaunas. LSMU Faculty of Pharmacy, Sukilėlių pr. 13, Kaunas.
Everyone, from healthcare students to biotech or IT enthusiasts and social innovation experts of all nationalities and residencies, who are interested in health innovation. Whether you're a seasoned hackathon participant or a first-timer, Hospiton welcomes you.
Not at all. You can register as an individual. We will form teams before the hackathon based on mutual interests and ideas mentioned in the registration.
We are looking for teams with 3 to 5 members.
No, the hackathon is free, thanks to the generosity of our sponsors.
We will have team building and challenge sharing, so it is certainly possible to register even if you don't have a team or an idea in advance.
We believe in “each one teach one”. This is an opportunity for all ecosystems to come together and learn from each other while contributing to this year challenges.
It's a 3-day sprint for the whole team. We understand that unexpected things can come up, but we expect you to be involved in at least 80% of all activities.
The full agenda is available on our website (www.hospiton.lt). Just check the navigation bar for the 'agenda' tab.
A laptop, charger, and an enthusiastic spirit for innovation!
If you have special dietary needs and our food may be unsafe for you, please bring your own.
We offer a rich blend of expertise. From mentors, coaches, and speakers specializing in healthcare, tech innovation, business, and more, you'll have a supportive environment to refine your ideas.
Teams will have up to 3 minutes for their presentation on the Demo day. This will be followed by a 2-minute Q&A session with our panel of judges. The award categories and prizes will be detailed on our homepage.
SPOTTING OPPORTUNITIES
How well did the team understand the healthcare challenge? Do they clearly define the problem and its root causes? Do they understand the target user’s needs and context? Is there evidence that the problem is large/meaningful enough to solve?
SOLUTION DEVELOPMENT & PROBLEM SOLVING
How well did the team explain how they arrived at their solution? Did they analyze the problem effectively? Did they use creativity, design thinking, prototyping or testing? Did they show ethical awareness or decision rationale?
INNOVATION
How innovative is the proposed solution? Does it meaningfully address the problem? Is it novel or a significant improvement over existing alternatives? Does the team articulate strengths, weaknesses and risks clearly?
COMMERCIAL POTENTIAL
How strong is the solution’s potential to succeed in the market? Is there a clear target customer or buyer? Is the value proposition compelling (why would someone pay for this)? Is there awareness of competitors and differentiation? Is the market size or business model realistic and promising?
TEAM EXECUTION CAPABILITY
How capable is the team to further develop and implement the solution? Are roles clear, and does each member contribute? Does the team demonstrate relevant skills or ability to learn fast? Do they show collaboration, ownership and commitment to continue?
PITCHING & PROJECT COMPLETENESS (incl. CLEAR CALL TO ACTION)
How well did the team communicate their solution and level of progress? Was the pitch clear, concise and persuasive? Did the presentation effectively support key messages (slides, demo, story)? Is the current stage/prototype demonstrated or explained clearly? Did they articulate clear “next steps” and what support they need?
A score should be entered in each column. Each of the criteria should be marked on a simple 5-point scale:
5 - very well developed, 4 - well developed, 3 - OK, 2 - in need of development, 1 - very underdeveloped
This gives a maximum possible score of 30 points for each pitch.
We encourage teams to continue with their projects and will provide opportunities and resources at the event, but ultimately the decision is yours.
It's natural to encounter challenges during a hackathon. We are here to assist you and offer the necessary support and tools to help you identify the problem and understand the processes involved. Please review the pre-event information and make use of the resources available on the website
